First of all, login to your Wordpress site.

Once you are logged into the dashboard go to the left hand sidebar and hover over the Products tab,once you see the light gray arrow to the right click on that to show the dropdown.  Then click on the the Products link in the drop down.

This will load the Products page where all of your products are listed.  Once there, you need to find the product that needs variations.  If you are creating a new product this will be the same process.

To find your product, select the category from the drop down and then hit Filter (as seen below) or type it into the search.

Once you have your product in the list hover over the title.  You can either click on the title or the edit link that appears below the title:

Now your product details will show up on the right column:

Once your product loads, scroll down the page till you see the Categories section (the red arrows won’t be in your cart ).

Click on the Featured Products checkbox if you want to add the products as a featured products or remove an existing check to remove it from the section.

Finally, click the blue Update Product button at the bottom of the page to save.

Go to the Products tab on the left side of the Dashboard.

Hover over the word Products and then click on the little gray down arrow to the right.

From the drop down select Products

Now you will be on the products page where you can manage and add products.

From the drop down in the middle column select the category you wish to reorganize

The hit the Filter button to the right of the drop down

Now, when the page loads you can drag and drop the products into the order you want them to be in.

This only works if you are working in a specific category.  Not in the master list of all products.

*Note for more techy user.  If you are my client and do not get this at all please let me know and we will go into your cart together and make sure it is right.

Navigate to your settings.  Products=>Settings.

Now Click on the Presentation tab.

Scroll down a bit till you see “Sort Product By:”

You will want to select “Time Uploaded” from the drop down.

When you hover over the word “products” a little grey down arrow appears to the right of the word. Click on that arrow.
A submenu will drop down below.

Then in the tabs across the top, click on “Shipping”.

Then scroll down and in the lower left hover over Flat Rate and when the edit link shows up, click on it and on the right side you will be able to set the shipping.

Then hit update and you are good to go!

Click on that down arrow
A sub menu will drop down,
click on Variations
Wait for the page to open up

On the left side of the screen you will see the list of existing variations
On the right you will see Add Variation Set
Type in the Name of the variation (ex. Body Pack)
Then type in the variations (ex. Vibrant, Natural)
Click Add

Now you need to add the variation to the product in question

Go back to the Products tab on the left side
Click on Products in the drop down, this will take you to your products list
To find your products quickly type a keyword into the search above the products list or scroll thru the pages of products, or select the category it is in.

When you find your product, hover over the title of the product and click “edit” from the options that appear below the product name
Now the area to the right will populate with your product’s details.
Scroll down the page till you see the “variation control” section. Click on the gray bar behind the words to get the area to open or close.

From the list, select the variation you would like to add to the product.
When you check the box the available variations will drop down.

You can un-check the ones that are not relevant
Further down, you can change prices for variations (ex. if a larger size costs more)

Finally, scroll down and click “Edit Product”

Cryptx is a plugin that hides email addresses from spiders and malicious email harvesters.  Works slick, you can either have the email output with [at] and [dot] or the regular way, which I prefer.  Just plug it in and it works, nothing to it!  The authors site is not in English, if you want it in English, get it here.

CMS-like Admin Menu changes the order of the menu in the Dashboard so that Page is above Posts.  Simple enough, but I find it handy.

Q-Translate is a multi language plugin that is very easy to use.  Once installed you set up your language(s) and you get tabs for each language just like the Visual and Html tabs.  I just love plugins that work out of the box without endless tweeking!

I loaded it on a new site I am working on and have not had too much time to dig in deep, but on first glance, I enjoy the wealth of info in the dashboard and that I can customize it, move it around.  So far, my favorite feature is the ability to upload plugins right from inside the dashboard, rather than have to find the plugin, ftp, extract, then activate.

One of these days I really must upgrade this blog.
